Annual Report 2012

In 2008 I established the consulting company, Adaptive Projects, in order to strengthen the leadership capacities and resilience of people, groups and their organisations in the social sector. Since then, I have provided coaching/mentoring, facilitation, training and strategic advice to hundreds of individuals and organisations in the not-for-profit, social enterprise, welfare and advocacy sectors around Australia.

In 2012 I worked directly with 275 people in the social sector around Australia. This included peak bodies, national charities, established social enterprises, social entrepreneurs starting new projects, small associations delivering health and welfare services and advocacy organisations. All of my clients came from referrals and word-of-mouth. I spent 10% of my time providing pro-bono or heavily reduced-cost services.

In a quantified sense, I delivered:

  • 73 coaching sessions,
  • 8 action learning sets,
  • 12 days of skills training in adaptive leadership, action learning, advocacy, facilitation & consultation,
  • 2 x key note addresses on leadership,
  • Researched and wrote 2 training packages,
  • Consulted to 3 organisations on their significant strategic change initiatives,
  • Facilitated 10 complex conversations for national organisations,
  • Helped 3 organisations to develop their strategic plans.
